1978 - Mesa Boogie MkI

My first 'name brand' amp. Prior to this I had been using an old vacuum tube job and 2 nameless speakers. Sounded alright actually.

But back to the Boogie. In Guitar Player magazine we read that John McLaughlin and Carlos Santana used a "Mes Boogie" amplifier. Then Al DiMeola turned up in the adverts - that clinched it - I had to get one!

Note the home made pedal holder on the left. The left box is a channel switcher for the Boogie - clean to distortion and the orange box is an MXR Phase 90.
