Vegas on the Fairstar During 1985 I spent much of my time all at sea - literally! I played first bass then guitar in the house bands on Russian ships and did dance band residencies on the "Fairstar" with Vegas.

The Fairstar was a cruise ship for young people... ... it got quite 'wild' at times... Vegas on the Fairstar





and then.....

Lermontov sinks in New Zealand - 1985

He he he - no - it was the sister ship which sank - the Lermontov. Still, it had the folks back home worried for a few moments. No loss of life on the Lermontov though - one missing sailor who most likely defected in the confusion (this was pre-glasnost).
