I was resident guitarist for several years in the 1980's with Vegas. Not Vegas the city... Vegas the band ! We played the corporate circuit in Sydney as wll as pub and club gigs with the occasional trip into the NSW countryside. I particularly remember playing New Years Eve gigs at Gulgong - the town on the 5 dollar note.

The drummer - Shane Cleary - was a man of wide musical taste and experience. He introduced me to the work of Messiaen and Boulez - and in fact cajoled me into taking up classical studies at a time when my interest in music was waning.

At that time I played a Gibson 335 Dot reissue and used a Roland Bolt amp... until that blew up on stage one night!. I guess it was more a "jazz" amp...
