Sounpost - liner notes
"The violin has a long association with Jazz. From primitive times the bowed
instrument has been a vehicle for expressing man's feelings about his lot in life.
On this recording we hear a young contemporary musician who absorbed the
Western Classical Tradition with his mother's milk, so to speak, and has chosen
one of the 20th century's Classic Jazz Styles to express his enthusiasm for music making.
The meeting of musical minds on "Summertime", spanning over 3
generations, reaffirms the power of music to cross cultural barriers and touch our
human essence. I hope it touches something in you.

".. Summertime... is in my favoured top 10 of about 30 jazz recordings
I've heard of this Gershwin Classic... On Summertime Cooper is accompanied solely by
Ike Isaacs...
There are three other great guitarists on Soundpost -
Graham Cox, Peter Inglis and Tim Rollinson.
