Vivaldi: Lute Concerto in D, P.V. 209 - Julian Bream

E-mail Print PDF

Julian Bream delivering a masterful performance of the popular Vivaldi Concerto in D. Listen to his shaping of the tone, and his embellishments. What a treat!

This is also a good example of ensemble playing. Notice that he is constantly communicating by looks, gesture and musical emphasis with the rest of the ensemble. He is communicating information about:
  1. Entries
  2. Tempo
  3. Rallentandos
  4. Dynamics
This type of guitar playing requires skill sets which may not necessarily be developed in a solo player.

Barbara found that this performance is still available on CD from Amazon.com. It is on the Julian Bream " the Ultimate Guitar Collection" CD. Thanks Barbara!
