Emmett Chapman has been making specialised tapping guitars at least since the early 1970's and Stanley Jordan is probably the world's best known tapping guitarist, but all these players are expanding the way we think about making music on the guitar.

Even if you have no intention of putting both hands on the fretboard - check out the work of these players and get inspired !

www.adam.fulara.com - plays a twin necked instrument. "Adam Fulara (born 1977) - musician, composer, guitar player using two-handed tapping technique, Polish National Jazz Competition winner (Sieradz 2004), plays mostly jazz and polyphony tunes of J. S. Bach."

www.marksmart.net - Mark Smart plays "Chapman Stick" and "The Continuum Fingerboard". "I'm doing jazz and going for a legato approach, like Allan Holdsworth if he played bop. That's hard, too, but much easier than attacking every note! It seems within reach to do very smooth fast lines like a sax. I've been practicing stuff from the David Baker "How to Play Bebop" books over simultaneous walking bass. "

" Your approach is just
what the field needs. "
