2. The Arrival



Here we are, and what a very pleasant surprise. Us Sydney-siders are spoilt for choice in terms of entertainment and rarely travel for a show. Well, the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre is on par with the best of Sydney venues, and is certainly newer than most of them.





Meanwhile Ricky unloads the van...



Here is our venue, and I am surprised to see there are shows are running concurrently in the other theatres.

Now, who is this "Bruce Gordon"? Here we go....



And, according to Wikipedia he "worked as a magician during the 1939-45 War". Wow, what a story. A performer himself, he goes on to fund the construction of a complex like this, which then enables performance after performance, a selection of which are shown here:







My apologies for the blurred imagery, I didn't want to use the flash. As you might get a hint of here, this is an inviting venue. Pre-show, the cafes here are buzzing, amd then again during interval and of course after the event.
